Why did you start this Foundation?
The Lexington Foundation, Inc. board is comprised primarily of the group of women who planned and implemented a local Ball for several years. We formalized the group and now have the opportunity to plan additional fund raisers and have direct control over where/how the funds raised are used.
[top]

How many board members do you have?
There are nine executive board members and a total of 50 board members. We have a five member advisory panel.
[top]

Are you affiliated with a single hospital, foundation or entity?
Since the philanthropic mission of our Foundation is to raise funds for cancer research and care, all area cancer institutions will be considered when we determine how best to use our funds. Each facility will follow a grant application process in requesting funds and outlining how they will be used.
[top]

How will you disperse the money you raise?
We will have a grant application process in place so that any individual, group or institution can apply for funds. The process will include clear guidelines on criteria that must be met and information that must be provided to us before funds are granted. The application protocol will assure that our funding process supports our Foundation's mission and vision. We are currently working on our web site so public will have access to our grant protocol and forms.
