In January of 2008, the Lexington Foundation Board of Directors voted to add the word “cancer” to our title – The Lexington Cancer Foundation, Inc. We feel this change better represents our collective passion, mission and vision to the community and our supporters. The Board is thrilled to announce since its inception in 2004, we have raised over 2 million dollars in the fight against cancer. The LCFI is nonprofit organization, comprised of a board of fifty women, who are passionate about cancer research, education, and patient care. Our success is due in part by our dynamic board and the generous support from our community.
We have had the honor of supporting numerous organizations through our annual grants process. These organizations include the UK Markey Cancer Center, the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge, Norton Cancer Center, Kings Daughters Hospital, Hospice of the Bluegrass, Central Baptist Hospital, and many more.
Funds are raised through our annual fundraising events which include, the Lexington Derby Ball, Hats for Life, and the Wine Celebration. We also hold an annual Medical Symposium for physician education dedicated to a cancer topic. The LCFI is pleased to announce we will be adding a public cancer forum to our calendar within the next year.
The LCFI greatly appreciates your continued support. Making a difference comes by working together. It is because of you that we are able to make an impact in the fight against cancer.
Sincerely,
